My favourite make for a baby would definitely be a quilt, as it can be used for all sorts of things, as well as on the bed.

  147. Wow you have been busy! Wonderful projects! My favorite baby gift to give is a receiving blanket or a little soft, stuffed toy. I like giving something that will not only mean something special to the parents, but also be something that the baby will grow up with and love. Thanks for the chance!

  148. Oh my, you have been busy indeed and this certainly is a Monster giveaway!! I just love giving quilts, but am often disappointed to learn they end up on the nursery wall not loved and used. Lately, I've been making taggie blankets with minky on the back for new babes. Thanks to you & Cloud 9 for this amazing giveaway!

  152. What adorable baby swag! I'm not sure how but I seem to have reached my late 30s with not a lot of babies in my life and subsequently no baby gifts. But quilts of any kind are awesome, so the next time someone I know pops out a baby, that's what they'll be getting!

  153. I usually give something incredibly practical -- baths with all the necessities for a bath! Then books. When it's a relative I make something - and I plan to make a baby quilt for my daughter's friend who is having a baby -- I'm not getting grand kids any time soon so I take vicarious thrill in their friends! My son even announces when his friends are having babies, "Charlie's pregnant," "Drew's pregnant," "Ian's pregnant." Only Drew's is a planner though, the others were happy accidents - and boy do I mean happy! I think because they don't come from big families the "boys to be dads" are inordinately excited!

  158. I love to give board books as gifts for babies. For moms who love to read, they are a delight. And for moms who might not have been read to, they are a nudge in that direction. Who can resist a darling board book?

  160. Wow what a lot of lovely things.
I only give cot size quilts to special friends. I like to give taggy blankets to not so close friends. Also some people don't like home made things as they are very concerned about safety. I like home made things and I loved the things my friend knitted for my girls. She learned knitting specially to make things for my babies, how great is that.!

  167. Bec, Your quilt reminds me of the ocean. When you look in the distance you see the waves are bigger, but by the time they hit the shore they get small and just wash at your feet. That's how your waves go from the center to the edges, I love it! Really cute baby stuff! My new favorite thing is to make receiving blankets with just 2 pieces of fabrics and turning them inside out at the end to get a mitered corner. It's fast and easy. I also love to make quilts of course!

  168. I like making small zipper bags, since it always seems like there are millions of little items that we want to carry with us for our kids, but never have a place to keep them handy. I've also started making appliquéd onesies for new baby gifts. Love the Monsterz line -- so cute.

They are a great keepsake and I have had people ask me where I got them and they are surprised I made it. I love bringing back an art that was once long gone. Thanks for the cute fabric giveaway. It's so much better than the typical boy quilt with trucks or sports

  182. Oh that fabric is awesome! Perfect for my new baby boy! As for baby gifts, I love to make extra large double sided receiving blankets for every baby shower I go to. The ones in the stores now are more the size of a burp rag than a blanket. I have big babies and there's no way I could swaddle them in one of those so I started making my own. Now I give them to everyone!

Oh and I always like to add a spray can of Solarcaine for mom! :-)
