Is anyone interested in Proof reading this pattern??
Remember this quilt??? Well, Ive decided to drag it of the cupboard... and finish it off.
Can you tell it has been in there a VERY long time??
As you can see i got to the basting stage... with a million pins. Then, I could never decide how i was going to quilt it. So it went in the cupboard...and i finally decided I would get it out... write the pattern... quilt the poor thing... and FINISH it off!!
I'm still a little undecided on how I should quilt it?? I'm thinking, i will just stipple the whole thing....or maybe wavy lines from left to right?? Any suggestions??
AND..
Now that Ive nearly finished writing the pattern... I was wondering if anyone is free to read over it before i finish it off?? That would be a HUGE help!! Another set of eyes are always better than just mine. And i think if i asked my hubby... well lets just not go there, i think that's probably stretching the marriage a bit....
And as a thank you..... I could give you a free pattern when its all done?? xx
I would be happy to help you out. I haven't proof read a pattern before but I am sure I could manage. Love the quilt by the way - fabulous use of the gorgeous fabrics!
ReplyDeleteIts a lovely quilt but I'm no help with quilting advice! I'd be happy to read the pattern for you though! BTW I made one of your birdcage blocks yesterday... It's a wonderfully clear pattern and I'm loving how it turned out. Going to quilt it before I blog about it!
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca, I would love to help you out. I have proof read a few patterns for my quilting friends.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a few takers. Another set of eyes here if you need them :-)
ReplyDeleteIt seems you already have wonderful help but if you ever need help in the future with anything, proofing or testing just let me know. I would love to help you!!
ReplyDeleteSame here, if you need help just let me know. My suggestion on the quilting would be straight lines (free hand straight) down the quilt at uneven intervals - you could even change the colours (subtly) as you move from right to left (left to right)....
ReplyDeletehmmm, seems I might be a little late to offer my services, but happy to help with proof reading :)
ReplyDeleteAnother pair of eyes here if you need them. :) Have you thought about feathers for the quilting?
ReplyDeletei think vertical straight line quilting and pebble quilting in the boxes
ReplyDeleteI love proof reading! will help if you need me! Thanks
ReplyDeleteIt appears that you have no lack of proofreaders but I'll be glad to help this time or any other - you can just e-mail me directly when you need a proofer!! ;-)
ReplyDeletewould gladly help you proofread if you still want someone.....love the quilt
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have plenty of offers but I would be glad to help as well. If this helps, I did this for a living for a while...proofreading/editing. I have several college students who send me stuff but if you have too many offers already I understand. Your choice. I do love the pattern though. I am loving the wavy lines idea. Especially if they are running opposite. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteWould love to help out if you need my help. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteAlways happy to help if you need someone still. I love the fact that you ask fellow quilters to proof read for you. Sometimes when I am following a pattern (quilt or bag) I wonder if the author had someone review their work or not - sometimes the instructions just don't make sense so I have to improvise.
ReplyDeleteThis is a brilliant way to use this fabric, fantastic quilt! I'd love to help you with reading the pattern, but it looks like you've got lots of help already!
ReplyDeleteI have beta-tested patterns before, it's fun. I will do it too if you need me. ;)
ReplyDeleteI am also happy to help.....
ReplyDeleteSandyn

Looks like you have lots of offers - if they don't work out I'm happy to help.
ReplyDeleteAll the safety pins crack me up. :)
Oh I missed my chance! Maybe next time : )
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt I have been saving echino to eventually make a quilt with. Looking forward to seeing how you quilt it.
ps you have got to try spray basting!
I'm late reading this. I've had a blast proofing Kate's patterns so if you ever need help in the future, I'd love to lend a set of eyes.
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca I would love to proof read your pattern.
ReplyDeleteYou have had plenty of offers so no worries if I miss out.
All best
Alison
